Who we are
Lockside started in 2009 with a Sunday service and a soup pot. The soup pot turned into a community meal, the meal turned into a food bank, and the food bank turned into most of our week.
We are a church for the whole east end: families, students, seniors, people between homes, people new to Canada. Whoever you are, there is a seat at the table.
Why we do all this
Everything at Lockside, from the soup pot to Sunday, comes back to Jesus:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:16-17, KJV)
What we believe
We believe in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; that Jesus lived, died, and rose again for the life of the world; and that the Bible is God's word to us. We try to live it out in the east end of Peterborough, one meal at a time.
Give
Everything that happens here, from Sunday coffee to the food bank, is paid for by people who give. Thank you.

Groceries twice a week
The food bank is open Tuesdays and Fridays for anyone in the east end.

Wednesday dinner

Youth night rides
Rides home after youth night, so no one misses out.
Food donations are welcome at the church office any weekday.
Prayer
Our prayer team meets on Wednesday mornings. Requests are kept confidential.

Your next step
Got a question, a struggle, or just curious? Joel would love to grab a coffee on Water Street.
Questions
Do I have to come to church to use the food bank?
No. The food bank and community meals are for anyone in Peterborough. Nobody is asked to come on Sunday.
Can I volunteer if I am not a member?
Yes. Most of our Saturday crew and kitchen volunteers are neighbours, not members. Just show up or call the office.
What are Sundays like?
About an hour: a few songs with a band, a talk from the Bible, prayer, and coffee after. Casual and a bit loud.
