Who we are

Brightwater began in 2016 in a rented room above a Wyndham Street cafe. We are now a few hundred people: university students, young families, retirees, and lots of people who would not have called themselves church people a year ago.

We believe church is a family, not an event, so most of what we do happens around tables during the week.

A note from our pastor

However you found us, we are glad you are here. You do not have to have it figured out to belong at Brightwater.

Pick one thing from this week that looks good and come. If you would rather talk first, I would love to buy you a coffee.

Hannah Leclair Lead pastor

What we believe

We believe the Bible is God's word, that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died and rose again, and that everyone is invited to know him. Our full statement is on our website.

Our full statement of faith

Who is Jesus?

Everything at Brightwater, from Tuesday groups to Sunday mornings, is about Jesus. The Bible says:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:16-17, KJV)

Curious? Ask us anything over coffee.

What about my kids?

Nursery to grade 6 at both Sunday services, with Bible stories, songs, and crafts.

Safety Every leader is screened and trained, kids are signed in and out, and two adults are always in each room.
